- Save the .KXO file attached to the email you received from Humanware to a location on your computer.
- Turn the Victor Reader off and be sure that there is an SD card inserted in the player.
- Connect the Victor Reader to the computer using the long USB cable provided.
- Turn the player ON. You should hear the message “Player Connected”. Alternatively, if you have an SD card reader on your computer, you can simply insert the SD card directly into the SD card reader rather than connecting the Victor Reader to the USB port on your computer.
- Wait for Windows to recognize your player. It will automatically appear as a removable disk drive on your computer system.
- Transfer the KXO file you saved on your computer in step 1 to the root folder of the SD card (do NOT save it in one of the subfolders).
- Use the Safely Remove Hardware option in the Windows System Tray to tell Windows you want to release the drive that contains your SD card.
- Power off the Victor Reader and disconnect it from your computer. If you are using a card reader, remove the SD card from your computer and insert it in the Victor Reader.
- Turn the player back on. You should hear Welcome to Victor Reader, a bling tone for the SD card detection and then the message “3 user keys processed”
